In this episode, I will teach you how to say "when is the right time to go to your house" in Bisaya.
The courting tradition have change dramatically after the birth of computer. Before, when a man wants to court a lady he writes love letters and sing a song to the lady - we call it "harana". Then, visit the lady's house, bring flowers and something sweet. This is the first stage of courtship.
That's how we used to court a woman before. These days, we write text messages, email/ private messages perhaps or we court in chat room.
There are still some tradition which are still being practiced. Like going to the house of the lady, bringing flowers and chocolates and maybe some snacks.
Now, that I am already a parent, I understand why my Mom wanted my suitors to court me in our house and not somewhere else. It's a way of getting to know the guy and how serious he is with me.
I'll give you another scenario where let's say, the girl already said yes to the boy. They would still go into the process of going to the girl's house to formally court her even if they are already in a relationship. With this, you will also meet the parents and maybe the whole family. After the meeting, the situation might turn sour or get complicated or will get the approval of both parents. It's really good if both parents approved of your relationship and both of you are accepted by the family. That will help really help the relationship to grow. Some parents would initially disapprove but with time as they get to know you or the suitor they eventually accept you. Just show them how sincere and how much you love their daugter or son.
Now, let's continue with our script.
